

I like the way your framed this shot. The details in the corn/silk and the contrast of textures,lines and shapes make the image very interesting. The variety of negative shapes created by the sky help to move the viewer's eye around the edges of the corn. The background adds to the dimensionality of space and gives the viewer sense of place.
I played around with warming up the image (and the sky), making a crop based on what you said you would do differently. I probably would have taken several shots cropping closer and closer within the camera, so back on the computer, I wouldn't have to crop areas out reducing the quality of the pixels. The limited light and overcast sky made this closeup subject a good candidate for fill flash!
