Dianna-Week 5-Field Trip

  1. What I did
-Noticed a road/path on the ‘off river’ side of the trail that had wonderful soft even light and had a ditch filled with autumn leaves and had a trickle of water flowing down the hill through the leaves.
-Further noticed nobody else had seemed to notice, so thought I’d see if I could find a shot. Oh look, what a pretty leaf!
-Played with some different shutter speeds, but there was so little water and such a slow ripple there really wasn't a great deal of difference in effect.
-Thought about doing something in the ditch to enhance flow, but then got lazy and didn’t.

    What I like
-the vivid colors and uniqueness of the leaf
-the shadows on the leaf caused by the ripple of water

    What I would change
-given this is supposed to be a 'water' shot, I probably should want clearer evidence of water (but I don't really).
-the exposure was less than perfect on this image(darn, dumb camera!). The histogram indicated a bit of probable clipping of both highlight and shadow detail - I did some clean-up of this image on both ends of the histogram scale in PhotoShop.
